uh oh =(

Well looks like the recession is finally hitting our work =(

We were told today that the company wants us to consider a 4 day working week instead of 5 for at least 6 weeks in order to allow for the finances to sort themselves out and get back into the black by a shit load rather than scraping by.

Its that or they will have to lay people off.

Know I would prefer to lose about £200 a month rather than a whole wage and struggle to get another job. Its not idea as we need every penny we can right now to enable us to save for when I go on maternity leave. If this 4 day week lasts longer than 6 weeks then I don’t think I am going to be able to afford to take my full maternity entitlement of 6 months.

No idea what to do but everyone  at work is feeling pretty shitty about it all – which is to be expected considering the circumstances… so just need to see how the next 6 weeks pan out.

The admin and purchasing/Estimator (me) are pretty busy its mainly the production line that is kinda slow as most orders are finishing and the new ones aren’t scheduled to start until about April time. Boss’s seem pretty confident that it will all smooth out by end of March, but then again they don’t have a crystal ball so cant guarantee anything.
