#littleadventures to Callander Park

We were super excited when we received these goodies in the post from Britmums and Barny!
Jack couldn’t wait to get out and try the bug kit, so we decided to head off to Callander Park and go on a wildlife, bug hunt.

Jack had fun counting the rings on the tree.

We also saw lots of strange mushrooms! He was quite taken with my story of the ones that were around the acorn tree – I found the biggest one and told him that the fairy king or queen sat there as it was closest to the tree trunk and that all the smaller ones were for the fairy council, and that they only came out at dusk when everyone had gone home.

We decided to have a wee rest and crack open the Barny snacks! Boy these things are great!

It was such a glorious day. You would Harley believe that it was October!?

In our adventure we came across some pretty plants and found some bramble bushes hidden away in the woods 🙂 I haven’t picked brambles in a long, long time and Jack had fun trying to pick them without squishing them.

We collected a lot of leaves and pine cones etc, and once we got home we sorted them all out and glued the leaves to some paper and we are going to look them up and write the names.

We had a nice little adventure today and the Barny snack were a little added bonus. These wee things are so yummy – even Max had a wee try! The thing I love most about them is that they are individually wrapped and also come in two flavours, Chocolate and Milk. And for being a sponge snack I was surprised at how moist they were as I really did expect them to be a little dry!

Try them if you can :) just make sure you share them with your kids!

This post is an entry for BritMum ‘Little Adventures Challenge’ in partnership with Barny, the bear-shaped snack providing a little discovery in every bite. Find out more about Barny here

Your adventure included some of my favourite things – counting rings on trees, mushrooms and stories.
Commenting for myself and on behalf of BritMums and thanking you for taking part
