My breastfeeding failure(s)

I have uncooperative boobies.

They just don’t seem to want to feed my kids.

Max is the only one that has been breastfed for any length of time (4 weeks) and even at that he lost a lot of weight instead of gaining.

Do I feel like a failure for not being able to breastfeed?
Yes I do, but I can’t beat myself up about it.

I am still trying with Lucy, but she wasn’t interested when she was born, and I had trouble trying to get her to latch on – that coupled with the fact the my milk hadn’t come in yet until I got home, I have decided to bottle feed.

4 days after giving birth the milk came in and I decided to try her with the breast again, she still didn’t latch on correctly and whilst she may be getting some milk I just don’t trust my body to make enough for her. I know breastmilk is very much supply and demand and the more I offer her the breast the more she will get etc etc.

In all honesty, bottles in my eye are easier for us a family as it means I am not tied to Lucy feeding on demand, per say, as she gets a bottle currently every 2 to 3 hours but family can help and give her a bottle whilst I rest or do something else.

Though I would love to know what rest is! She is feeding every 2 hours during the night so getting next to no sleep at all at the moment.
