It moves!!
Wel 17 weeks tomorrow =)
Went to see the midwife today – got the results from my blood test back in December, my platletts are fine and dandy and i now know my blood group only been a month but better late than never.
Was getting more blood taken today to test for Downs Syndrome and Spina Bifida – will get results of that Monday. It I am within a normal range I will get a letter if not the midwife will get in touch and then book me in the clinic next thursday – it moves that fast if it high risk. For spina bifida i would get a scan to check the spin and stuff and for the Downs I get advice and the option to get and Amnio – which involves a huge needle being inserted into the bump to check the amniotic fluid. We have already discussed the reasons why I would refuse this test as the risk of miscarriage is still too high for my liking and we would continue with the pregnancy anyway.
But lets not think of that…….
What I am super excited about was hearing its little heartbeat =) OMG!!!!! It was amzing to hear – it was beating about a 100mph so so fast, and oh cant explain how i felt when i heard it – wish Lee was there, I wansnt expecting to have that done as thought was just going to get blood taken. So that was a nice surprise.
Also been told that is is moving and now I can actually feel it moving!! You cant see it but boy can i fee l it – i said to the midwife that i thought i was getting bad wind the last 3 days but as it turns out how i was decribing it to her she said it was acutally the baby moving!!! =)
I never imagined i would feel it at this stage to be honest – its knowing whats normal and whats not when its your first baby.
So all in all things are going smoothyly so far – once i get these blood results next week i can realax a little bit better and enjoy the rest of the pregnancy.
~xx~

I’ve read that it’s very normal to begin feeling it move around the 17th week. It usually starts in flutters, like if you physically had butterfliesi n your tummy.
I am so happy that you were able to hear a heartbeat. I am sorry Lee missed it, but there will be many more chances 🙂
Oh yeah, I’m reading “Girlfriend’s guide to pregnancy” I wanted some inside knowledge on my friend Chelsea who just gave birth, I’ll let you know if there’s anything in there I think you should know as well 🙂
Loves to you, Lee, and baby 🙂
